CONTEMPORARY CURATORIAL PRACTICES THROUGH THE PRISM OF ART CONSERVATION

Abstract

This article aims to explore the role of the curator in the exhibition, preservation and conservation of the contemporary art object, the process by which this role has been redefined in recent centuries, but also the necessary symbiosis between the curator and cultural institutions both for a good presentation and distribution of the message of the artwork and for its conservation. The various types of innovative approaches in curatorial practices in the complex context of contemporary art are discussed.
