Abstract

Norma and Abigaille, peaks of virtuosity in the lyrical repertoire is a short study of the similarities and even the differences between the two roles that unequivocally establish the position of Diva in such a beautiful and demanding world of opera and lyrical repertoire. A study about the type of voice that these roles are best served by considered terribly difficult technically, vocally and especially emotionally. Both roles require, in addition to an impressive technical background, an overflowing physical and vocal energy and a rare emotional maturity.
