TRADITION AND CONTINUITY OF THE BULGARIAN COMMUNITIES IN DÂMBOVIŢA COUNTY

  • Maria TUFEANU The “Bosilce” (Busuiocelul) folk ensemble, The folk ensemble carries on it activities at the “Matei Voievod”, Cultural Centre, branch of the Târgovişte House of Culture. The group is, present at events organized by the House of Culture and represents the, Cultural Association of Bulgarians in Târgovişte., The ensemble was founded in autumn 1998 at the initiative of the, Association and with the support of the school, and consists of children, and young people aged between 7 and 20., The band’s repertoire consists of Bulgarian folk songs and dances,, customs and traditions, as well as Romanian folk songs and dances., The Bulgarian folk costumes which the ensemble members wear, are all from the neighborhood and are true values, many of the, components being nearly a hundred years old., Training in Bulgarian is provided by Florica Ionciu and Steliana, Ghergu, both teachers at the neighborhood kindergarten and members of, the association., Soloists of the ensemble are: Mocanu Simona, for the Romanian, repertoire, and Oana Ghergu, Georgiana Ghergu and Emilia Ionciu, for the, Bulgarian repertoire. By interpreting individually or together with the, vocal group, they have valued both songs collected from the neighborhood, and those learned from singers of certain ensembles from Bulgaria or, from cassettes recorded, acquired when participating in festivals., The artistic training and the choreographic material have been, continuously improved as the ensemble’s coordinator, Maria Tufeanu,, appropriated elements specific to Bulgarian folklore., A notable qualitative leap was made in 2005, when, with the, support of the Târgovişte House of Culture, we were able to orchestrate, several songs, observing Bulgarian rhythmic., The group participated in many activities, competitions and, festivals in the country and abroad. Thus, in Târgovişte, the ensemble took, part in many activities and shows, and in the International Folklore, Festival during the City Days, 2002-2006 editions.
