AN OVERVIEW OF CHILDREN'S BOOK ILLUSTRATION HISTORY IN ROMANIA

Abstract

By tracing the historical development of illustrated books intended for Romanian children, we can observe that this artistic field, although deeply cherished, has often been underestimated and has had to struggle to earn its rightful place on bookstore shelves. This study offers a brief overview of the history of children's book illustration in Romania, highlighting several key figures who have significantly contributed to shaping the aesthetic dimension of Romanian literature.
