SPANISH MUSICAL ARTISTIC LIFE DURING THE RISE OF AVANTGARDE IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY (II)

Abstract

This text presents the evolution of musical life in Spain in the second half of the 20th century, highlighting the role of institutions, societies and festivals in promoting avant-garde music. After 1947, the Manuel de Falla circle paved the way for musical modernism, followed by Juventudes Musicales, active since 1952, which promoted young artists and contemporary European and Spanish repertoire. The Generation of '51, composed of creators such as Cristóbal Halffter and Luis de Pablo, also evolved in the same direction.
