COMPOSER ION VIDU AT 90 YEARS FROM THE TRANSITION TO ETERNITY: THE WORK ”OLD FUNERAL SONGS” (II)

Abstract

The year 2021 brought with it the commemoration, on February 7, of the 90th anniversary of the passing to the eternal ones of the famous Banat composer Ion Vidu. However, the pandemic context in which we find ourselves made this date pass without special manifestations; therefore, we considered it appropriate, as an evocation of the great teacher, conductor and composer, to address in the following a topic that the literature has never treated separately and which in this commemorative context is relevant: the work Old Funeral Songs, which can be considered a small orthodox requiem of the composer.
