Abstract

Professor Tohaneanu is a symbol of Timisoara Philology, apersonality whose work has conveyed new meanings to the creations ofseveral fundamental authors, such as M. Eminescu, M. Sadoveanu, I.BudaiDeleanu, Al. Macedonski and others. He was a brilliant man of culture, anoutstanding translator, who, through his work, highlighted the Latinity of theRomanian vocabulary.
