The Bistri a region is an old spring of Romanian culture,which generated along the years important artistic realizations,amongst which the wooden churches have a particular beauty andnoblesse since they are the place where the folkloric art mingles withthe civilized art.Close to Nasaud city, on the border between the villages Rebra andParva there has been centuries ago1 an Orthodox monastery for monksand a small wooden church with the feast of the Annunciation. Theicons from this monastery, among which the icon of our study,constitute proofs of creativity, constancy and continuity, proofs of ourfaith and values of spirituality and Christian sensitivity, because theypreserve constructive and decorative elements that can be found on theentire Romanian territory.
