SYMMETRY – A QUALITY OF STRUCTURING LIFE AND MUSIC

Abstract

Symmetry represents the manifestation of some regulations which are observed by the human beings and the non-living ones alike. The various types of symmetry can be found in music, in the structure of the organic and inorganic matter, at micro and macro structural level. The present study focuses on the structural similarities which describe the way some of the forms of life and music are structured, by concrete examples of the various types of symmetries which can be found in the structures provided by the intonation related input.
