THE ORGANIC SYNTHESIS, GRANDIOSE AND AUSTERITY

Abstract

This paper draws a parallel between my painting work and those of Francisco de Zurbaran and Odilon Redon. For Francisco de Zurbaran austere style, dark and gloomy was a characteristic of the first period of his painting. Paintings background is dark and the bright points out forms. It creates a feeling of rough contours and colors are laid in large patches in highly contrasting chiaroscuro. So bricks (adobe) are presented as rough outlines on a dark background. In what concerns Odilon Redon it is about his works «Esprit de la Forêt» and «L'homme-cactus» showing similarities with my work.
