Abstract

Similar to other products, and due to the global awareness of effects on the environment by using resources chaotically, today’s garment has been redefined in terms of durability and sustainability. Clothing represents a significant part of global trade and economy, seeing that worldwide consumers spend on clothes on average about one trillion dollars a year. Because of the huge budget we allocate to clothes daily in the last decade, the textile industry has naturally experienced the ECO trend, due to the multiple implications. It has been shown that this industry uses plants treated with extremely toxic and harmful substances that favor the emergence of serious diseases in both humans and animals. Thus, part of the textile and fashion industry shifted to Organic clothing using mostly flax, hemp and wool textiles.
